PRINCE2 Practitioner Conversion Training Courses
Course Objective
This course has been specially designed for delegates who already have a PRINCE2 foundation pass based on the 2009 version of the guidance. The course will cover the content of the PRINCE2 2009 Practitioner syllabus and prepare delegates to take the Practitioner exam on the last afternoon of the course.
All AFA courses are delivered using the latest PRINCE2 examinations and syllabus*.
Delegate Profile
Project managers wishing to build on their achievement in the PRINCE2 Foundation exam, following further experience or a period of study. The course would be of benefit to those with project support office or project assurance roles, team managers, Project Board members who wish to be hands-on, and team members aspiring to a more senior role. A PRINCE2 Foundation pass is a prerequisite for attending this event.
Topics Covered
The following modules are included:
- Tailoring PRINCE2
- Controlled Start & Controlled Progress
- Product Based Planning
- Exam Preparation
Trainer Profile
All AFA PRINCE2 trainers have undergone the rigorous approvals process administered by the APM Group on behalf of the UK Cabinet Office. They are practising project managers with considerable experience in a wide range of industry sectors.
The use of hybrid trainer-managers is of great benefit to delegates and ensures that illustration and anecdotes have up-to-date validity and that the training given, whilst being true to the syllabus is also pragmatic.
Location & Duration
AFA open courses are held at approximately fortnightly intervals at a range of venues across the UK. All venues have been chosen for their modern equipment and ease of access from major road, rail and air routes. Alternatively client events can be arranged on-site or at a suitable venue nearby. A full open course schedule can be found here.
This course takes place over two days, including the optional PRINCE2 Practitioner examination. However three days of training can be provided (both in-house and on open courses) for delegates seeking more time to reflect on the PRINCE2 methodology. Delegates should be aware that considerable evening preparation and consolidation will be required by those that wish to pass the exam.
Course Arrangements & Cost
Open course places cost from £550 +VAT per delegate for two days and from £695+VAT per delegate for three days.
Included in the cost of the course are:
- Joining instructions and pre-course preparation pack
- Access to the AFA Atrium
- Printed course material
- Examination fees
- Daytime refreshments
- ProjectCoach Service
Joining instructions including pre-course exercises are sent out approximately 2 - 3 weeks before the course start date. It is assumed that delegates will have a current copy of the PRINCE2 manual; if that is not the case, one can be provided at cover price. Typically 3-4 hours will be required for pre-course preparation.
We would be pleased to provide a quote for an in-house event, based on location and delegate numbers. Please contact us for further information.
