Outcome & Benefits Management
Course Objective
One of the most effective techniques for modelling the scale of the challenge represented by an organisation’s portfolio of programmes and stand alone projects is Benefits Management with the related discipline of Outcome Modelling. Transformational change programmes are characterised by benefits-driven planning and managing of the realisation of benefits, in order to achieve strategic outcomes from the additional capability projects deliver. Benefits Realisation Management is becoming much more prominent within Programme Management, but there is still a dearth of practical experience. The PRINCE2 2009 Refresh has also introduced for the first time the ideas of benefits management within a project. This event also explores Benefits Management within the context of project management. The objectives of this event are to understand: • How to identify & clearly define benefits at the outset, and to link them to strategic outcomes • How business areas can become committed to realising ‘their’ defined benefits with ownership and responsibility for ‘adding value’ throughout the process • How to drive forward the process of realising benefits, including measurement, tracking & recording as benefits are realised
