About AFA - Management

The AFA Approach

AFA has two directors - Alan Ferguson and Susan Ferguson. The Head Office staff is led by Stuart Flatt.

AFA's Managing Director and Lead Trainer, Alan Ferguson, founded AFA in 1995 following a distinguished career in the Royal Air Force and experience in the financial services industry.

Alan is the author of 'Tailoring PRINCE2™'. He has contributed to the most recent updates of all three Best Practice methods and has been appointed by Office of Government Commerce (OGC) to develop a Common Glossary as a first step to fully aligning the methods.

Alan has completed consultancy and training assignments in Australia, Dubai, Bermuda, New York, Dublin and at various locations throughout the UK. His main hobby is flying fixed-wing aircraft.

Susan Ferguson is AFA's Commercial Director. Her original career was as a structural design engineer culminating in work for Westminster Station and the Copenhagen Metro. She joined AFA in 1999 and has since been responsible for a more than four-fold increase in turnover.

She has established strategic partnerships with organisations within the UK and Europe, and plans to double AFA's size again within three years. Her main hobby is gardening.

AFA's Head Office in Norfolk is managed by Stuart Flatt. Stuart joined AFA in 2003 after some years in logistics. He ensures that the AFA support team meets the requirements of corporate clients, individual delegates and our consultants and trainers. His main hobbies are golf, football & fishing.
